Common awkward moments

post some common awkward moments

i'll start:

when you're buying something at the store and it's not ringing up right so they have to call someone to get help and you hold up the whole line

when you're walking on the sidewalk and the person in front of you is walking really slow. for some reason i can't walk past that person

this one isn't that common but......when your dad picks you up from practice and catches you alone with a girl he knows nothing about. holy sh$t that sucks

Well, there's always that awkward silence that happens in the middle of a conversation. I hate that.

I've also had many awkward moments in the locker room, but I think there's a whole thread here dedicated to that. Locker rooms are just awkward to begin with. Anyplace where you're around people of your sex getting dressed and undressed is bound to be awkward.

This happens all the time at school. I'm walking down the hall, and some stranger that I don't even know is walking towards me. I think they're going to move out of the way so we can pass each other by, but they don't until we're about 5 feet away from each other. Then I try to move to the right, but they move to the right, and I try to move to the left, and they try to move to the left, and we end up doing some strange dance type thing for a few seconds moving to the left and right until someone finally takes one big step in one direction and we can be on our way. And the whole time, you're trying not to make eye contact with that person.

Oh, then a personal story. I have a guy friend, and we go shopping a lot, but it's always really awkward when we pass through the women's lingerie section. I don't know why, it just is for both of us. He even mentioned it to me one time.

So, that's it for now. If I think of more, I'll post them.

Yes I prefer a room getting dressed with the opposite sex :p

Why is it when two people are walking toward each other, they usually glance and make eye contact, yet then look away and pretend they dont see that person. Instead of just looking at them and saying hi.

:) I'd prefer a room getting dressed alone. Unfortunately, locker rooms can't provide that.

Yeah, that is always awkward, I guess people don't want to acknowledge that they actually pay attention to strangers. It would be kind of weird to say hi to someone that you've never really met.

When in a locker room getting dressed, just quote Ricky Bobby to ease the mood, "Yeah, it's the real deal down there.."

I feel really awkward now because I'm always being asked about my opinions on things like yoga or terrible lifting routines and I'm not built with adequate social skills to avoid offending people (it's sad but true).

when you're lying next to a girl in bed, after finishing your business, you got a bit carried away by the heat, and you know you are both thinking something along the lines of "oh my god, did we really just do that ****?"

:D

when a woman asks another female friend, "do you think i'm pretty?" -- that's so awkward (not to mention freakish).

if you gotta ask, odds are...

When you go shoe shopping the the shoe guy gets down on his knees to put the shoes on you feet....

Please don't touch my feet. and go away for a second so I can see if I like them LOL

You can start a slow clap. That will break the mood.... :yelrotflmao:

That happens to me all the time!! I don't know why either. Now I just stand there and wait until they pass.

clothes shopping, shoe shopping, hell even sock shopping I want to do it alone, and I dont want the clerks to talk to me. I really don't understand why.

yup! same here! i prefer shopping alone and will go out of my way not to be seen in those little stores with someone standing there greeting everyone that walks in... if they cannot be avoided, i will not go into the store lol.. wow.. i'm so glad i'm not the only person like this! (besides my mom, she's the same way)

When my wife asks me to get Tampons for her and its the only item I have to get at the store.......

I still do it.....but......>

I live in a dorm at school and everyone does that! It pisses me off, some even look away. Why don't they just give a nop, wave, smile, small verbal recognition, something.

I was just discussing this with some friends earlier today. Have you ever been walking and you see a complete stranger who seems to be waving at you so you wave back, but then you realize that they were waving at someone behind you. That's embarrassing! Or, you run up to someone and say hi thinking it's someone you know, but then when they turn around, it's just someone who looks like that person. Awkward.

Chillen, I know what you mean about buying tampons. I think it would be less embarrassing for a guy though, since the store clerk would know that a guy obviously wouldn't be using them.

people asking if you can see they have gotten fat, offcource you say "no" and then they start "really?! I've gained like 30 pounds because of a knee operation (or simular), it's OK to say you have noticed, I know I've gained weight and I'm working on getting rid of it"
what are you gonna do? Go back on what you said? goosh, I hate those moments..
