spend more time reading and less time stressing..

You say you started to eat like a normal person by eating X, Y, Z meals.

Meals have little to do with what you need to concern yourself with at this point. You need o worry about calories. And rest. Big time.

With such an extreme case, if I had my way with you (yea that sounds absolutely terrible, I know, lol), you'd take a month or two to 'repair' things. This repair would involve rest, introduction of more calories over time back towards what should be your maintenance, and reintroduction of some exercise.

Beyond the physical stuff, obviously there is a lot on the psychological front you need to worry about too. You're realizing that what you were doing in the past was not the answer. This is your chance to learn from mistakes (which we all make) and improve.

Beating your body into submission is something, especially among women, that is all too common of a philosophy when it comes to losing weight. Unfortunately, I've never seen it work to the dieter's advantage. The body always gets what it wants and that's survival by resisting everything you throw at it. The harder you throw, the harder it resists.

I'd be interested in hearing what your waking temperature is. Do you have a thermometer? Take it first thing upon waking for 3 days and let's hear what the average is.

And a quick, general note: You're going to need to ditch the notion that "I can't gain a single pound."

You might have to take a couple of steps back if you're going to be able to lose weight healthily in the future. Think of it as a process. The end goal is something good, something you want, a place you want to be. The road to that goal, however, isn't always a one-way street.

thank you steve .....

Well I can't stress the emotional/psychological side enough. I normally stay clear of threads like this b/c of how tangled of a web some minds I've seen are and it goes well beyond my ability as a professional to help. There's a lot of entrenched behavior that is obsessive to the point of hurting oneself and it's hard stuff to break.

I'm not suggesting this is the case with you. But if it is, you need to seek more help than can be found through strangers on the net... I'll say that.

More than likely, the relationship you have with food and your body is an unhealthy one and that, just as if not more than your body, needs healing and changing.

The reason I'd like you to take your morning temp is it's a pretty good indicator of a suppressed metabolic rate if it's low.
