Colds and maintaining weight

So I have a pretty bad cold and I'm going to be missing some school, which means I'm not going to be active. Over winter break, I gained weight because I didn't get to move around... I'm sure being sick won't do me much good either.

But on the other hand my appetite's decreased; I was only able to eat about 900 calories today before I bloated like a monster and could hardly move. I'm afraid, too, that once I start eating more again, I'll just gain weight even faster. I've never felt so bloated before; I'm blaming it on my being sick, but I don't know. I suddenly ballooned after eating corn and apple slices and my body shape literally changed completely.

But anyway, does anyone have any tips on how I can avoid gaining weight while being sick? Not bedridden, I'll still be doing a little exercise, but I won't be walking from class to class and walking home from school. We even have a 4 day weekend coming up so that's already almost a full week of inactivity.

starving yourself won't help you get better...

eat healthy nutritious foods... drink lots of water... and do what you are capable of doing... don't baby yourself but don't overexert yourself either...

I wasn't trying to starve myself. I just couldn't eat anymore :|

It's been 4 and a half hours and I still feel pretty full.

But yeah, I've been trying to drink a lot of water.

I was in your same spot last week. I became very sick, but my body tends to get through the sickness very quick and it only lasted me 3 days. I pretty much only ate oranges, mandarin oranges, banana, and eggs for those three days along with a 24 case of water and a jug of orange, smoothies, banana juice.

Drink a lot of water, along with taking a multi-vitamin, and as many fruits that you can. Sleep a lot also so your body can re-energize, if you can humidify your room too.
