Hey everyone,
I just have a few questions about doing Cohens by Correspondence. I've had a clinic that I've been going to since I began Cohens and have been doing pretty well-16kg!- and feeling very settled with the diet, strangely beginning to really enjoy all my meals! However, last tuesday I received a letter (dated the 6th) informing me that all Adelaide clinics were closing down forever on the 6th and that I will now need to finish my program through the Perth clinic. My cohens counselor gave me absolutely no indication that the clinic was closing and I even had an appointment for that thurday. Anyway, I'm still a bit shocked at the news as it all happened so quickly and I'm a bit nervous about finishing the program without weigh-ins. Although I'm still really determined this is a pretty bad time of the year to have such a big change in a program that has been working really well for me. Not only is it Christmas but it's my summer holidays too! So finally, to all the people doing cohens by correspondence do you have any tips or suggestions? Anything at all that will help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Ruby, I basically did Cohen's by correspondence as my clinic was in Hobart & I live in the north of Tasmania. I didn't even get weighed when I first visited the clinic anyway & always weighed & measured myself. It doesn't make any difference who does the weighing. We are the ones actually doing the program though & once we have all of the information then it's up to us what we do with it. You have been doing the program successfully & are more than capable of completing it without seeing any consultants. All along it has been up to you & you are the one being committed & determined so you will be fine. I used to only ever email my consultant & only occasionally ring.
I do think it's a damn shame that clinics seem to be closing everywhere though.
Your program has not changed & nothing should derail you. You can do this Ruby. You have proved that, cheers Cate

Thanks for the advice Cate! Sorry I took so long to reply. I'm feeling more confident about doing it by correspondence now, I was just a little nervous to begin with. Hope the start of 2010 has been good for you too! :D

Hi Ruby, glad you've gotten used to the correspondence idea. I too did my program that way, the first time. It was great. Wishing you all the best.
