Sport coffee/tea

Sport Fitness
briefly chatted with a personal trainer today, and she said coffee is really bad for me! dehydrates you, and that i should get off it.

is it the caffiene that does this? would drinking decaf be OK? what about tea with or without caffienne?

she had to go meet someone so i couldn't ask her these questions :(

Coffee Interferes with Many different vitamins and minerals absorption.
Decaf Coffee is even worse in that its may be carcinogenic in the body because of the decaffeinating process.

Coffee anymore then a cup to two a day has been shown to have many negative effects on the body.

Depends on the type of Tea, So which kind do you want to know about?

Quick fact, (Im bored so let me rant;) )
Tea (actually whats in the tea) binds with Non HemeIron (iron not found in meats) which can prevent or drastically lower the absorption of the "Vegan" iron. So if you are a Vegan then it might be a good idea to stay away from Teas.

i just want to know if tea in general messes up your vitamin/mineral absorbsion as was stated earlier in reference to coffee. or if it dehydrates you like my PT said.

i drink a lot of black tea, but if there's an alternative that's healthier, i can drink that too! if it's just the caffiene that is bad in the tea, there are a lot of caffiene free teas available here..

Tea has many health benefits, Although the green and white versions are by far "better" for the body.

Black tea's are much higher in caffeine, lower in Flavonoids, and lower in catechins then that of its white and green brethren.

If you are going to drink tea then try out Green and white (although white tea is expensive). They have a better Flavonoid count and lower amounts of caffeine and fluoride.

Keep the consumption black tea down to 2 cups a day
Green about 3-5 cups a day
White about 2-3cups a day.
To avoid possible "Caffeine" problems and other reasons.

To keep it simple here is a small chart ( > = better than)
White tea > Green Tea > Black Tea > Coffee

EDIT
Stay way from "caffeine free" tea's,coffee and so on.
