Chest Excercise

I am just starting a workout routine and do not have much equipment or a gym membership yet. I want to make sure I stick with the program before investing too much. Anyway, I am putting together a workout routine. I have a set of dumbells but no bench and am wondering if just pushups would be good for a chest excercise until I go out and buy a bench or is there something else I can do with the dumbells until then?

Any input is greatly appreciated.
 
Hmm, make sure you are doing push-ups and change it up a bit. Put your feet up on a chair or something of the like and do push-ups to work your upper chest. If you had something you could lap on, you could do some dumbell fly...
 
You can do bodyweight stuff e.g. pullups, pushups, bodyweight squats one is not restricted to just using weights. There are also pushup variations you could do and also use a back pack to do weighted pushups. However just start off with basic pushups don't try and do the advanced stuff till you have covered the basics.
