yea i saw this is the men's health magazine....its a different way to look at bad food.

To me it appears to be just a lame justification to eat junk food. While some of the snacks mentioned are okay (beef jerky), there are so many other healthy alternatives to eat and satisfy your cravings for junk. It just takes a little research and work to find some alternatives that will work for each individual.

i agree 100% with you. It looks like a justification to cheat. i mean, sure wine has antioxidants, but its also has lots of friggen calories. You can get these same antioxidants by eating many other foods which have far fewer calories.

If your gonna cheat and eat junkfood, then do it and be over with it and get back on the wagon. But its articles like this that give people a false sense of security when eating these foods in excess.

Most of these food's positives are probably going to be significantly dwarfed by their negatives. Although, they do make a pretty strong case for pork rinds, I find that eating the suggested serving isn't enough for me once I get started. Better to stay away from them, except beef jerky.

except the sodium nitrate in beef jerky is a surefire way to halt anabolism in the body, making recovery and gains harder to achieve.

you've gotta find the natural beef jerky which is spendy and doesn't keep for nearly as long.
in a pinch, its fine.

as for the article...it was so-so.. nothing earth shattering, because I already knew that saturated fat is necessary...that TOO MUCH saturated fat is what's bad.

Moderation...that's all that article equates to.

Those articles are crap. I think of it as the moderation factor.

All in moderation, dark chocolate, wine, ect.

Many things have benifits but people take studies like this to say, "I can eat all I want of 'X' because I read it is good for you"

MODERATION.

I had a client actually argue with me that I was being unhealthy by not drinking a few beers each night. These kinds of articles wreck people.

we'r different then kuz when i am eating chocolate or something i just think about how its "good" for me lol....its for...nutritional purposes *munch*
