Hello so I'm obese and I'm trying to lose weight, and I've been doing the one meal a day die so I eat a salad with avocado and chicken breast and I find it quite easy and kinda like it, but this week i only lost 2 pounds so should i change my diet?
2 lb is a solid healthy loss, loosing at a higher rate than this is not achievable long term and is often unhealthy with the loss of lean muscle instead of fat.
while your meal itself sounds ok, it is often difficult to eat adequate daily protein in that one meal
your eating habits sound a lot like intermittent fasting... eating only within a certain window each day and fasting the remainder of the day. i have been doing this for a few months now and on the average i've been losing about 2 lbs/week. i consider this is as extreme as i want to get.. i have plenty of energy and have remained very healthy during the flu season. i do not want to let myself get run down.
my daily eating window is about 4-5 hours and i usually squeeze in two moderate meals. the more important part of what you are doing right is the fasting part. it is important that you let your digestive system empty out and after 12-14 hours you should begin getting into a fat burning state. this is the best time to get any exercise. i walk for the most part and i do that right before my daily eating window.
keep it up... you should being to feel the results within a month. my first signs were clothes fitting much more comfortably. it's a nice beginning reward.
