Personally I wish that so many words weren't bleeped out.

Welp, I think the first thing I'd like to see is a "READ FIRST before posting" type sticky in the Newcomers forum (or sommat like that) containing a list of the official do's and dont's.

After that a long list of little things like: more contests, some rearrangement of stickies/subforums, an Australian/Japanese timezone mod to mulch the late night spammers, shuffling/renaming of some of the emoticon choices (I believe the WLF setup is much better in this regard), and turning off automatic quoting in pm's.

I'm sure I'll be able to come up with more tomorrow, but like I said, little things. The first bit, however, is something I think will be very beneficial both immediately and in the long run.

, an Australian/Japanese timezone mod to mulch the late night spammers,
I second that, there have been lots of times when it's just been me and BigTom on here in the morning (UK time) and some spammer comes on and can hit the site with a post a minute until a mod shows up which can take hours.

Karky should be roughly in our time zone but he's a lazy student mofo and hasn't been on as early lately

Less s.ex talk on the forum. Its seriously getting old even if it was funny to start with.

More quality thread to discuss.

Sex talk will never get old, as long as its kept clean and inside the 1-10000 thread.

Its the animal talk etc thats getting old, even im getting sick of it. First step is to change my avatar.

Nothing wrong with sex talk though as long as its kept clean and in the correct threads.

Agreed .

Would it be possible to have a privacy setting in the Photos section so you can select who you want to be able to see your pictures?

For example, a woman who feels overweight might be uncomfortable having men see her pictures so she could select something like 'women only' + 'members with over 200 posts' (to cut down on guys getting accounts just to look at that one thread)

No one ever reads those types of things.

Oh, it's not about them reading it. It's about being able to point to them and say, "Should've read the rules... Yes, you are ****ed. **** out of luck."

Yeah, that's why you didn't know we have one already in the 'new member intro' section

Nono, not a, "Hey, look at all the neat stuff!" post. A, "These are your freedoms, and these are your responsibilities!" post. I'll write it up myself if I have to. ^_^

This is meant to be the FF not the SS

Yeah, I was thinking more a system in place with something like a friendly reminder, a warning, and then infractions, and then a temporary ban (with explanation). And then instapermaban if it continues, at which point we've established that it is surely willful. Except in the case of things like straight up whoring of other sites, obviously.

The main idea is to have a visible ruleset. People keep referencing "The Rules", but where are they? I believe it ridiculous to blame someone for breaking a Code he was never informed of, or can never consult because he doesn't have a copy.

I have been to a forum where the host was able to set it us so when you logged on you were forced to see the "read this / forum rules" thread before you were able to go onto the forum. Not sure if that would work here but it might be one way to help rules be seen if that is a route that is considered.

And to add to Typhon's suggestion of private pics, maybe a couple of members only folders one in the gallery, one in the lounge. At least that way it is limited to members.

Again, at another forum I frequent, there are albums in the members profile, and they can be set to "only friends" so that you control who sees the pictures you post.

This time it is you who reads my mind, bb. I'm so aroused. :luxlove:

I personally wholeheartedly approve of the "forced viewing of the rules" thing. At the cost of an extra second spent clicking through each day we receive a clean and orderly resolution process. And probably everything some people have been campaigning for. Not to mention, a number of people actually reading the rules who otherwise might not be.

I'd even go so far as making it mandatory to view the "Where to start..." thread upon the first, say, 5 log ins. That would also be of benefit, I suspect. :)

lol, well at this place was set so you had to view it twice as a new member. Then when there were announcements, it was used and would pop up for everyone so you wouldn't miss them.....
