Sport Fitness
k so my me and my mom are wanting to go on a diet and i know about the how often to eat and u need to eat 1 protein and 1 carb for every meal... but.. i honestly dont know how to eat properly. what can i eat for carbs?? if someone could help me out it would be greatly apreciated thanks

I'm no expert, but here are the "rules" that seem to work:

1. Eat small meals every 2-3 hours
2. Figure out the number of calories you need to lose weight by multiplying your current weight by 12.
3. Drink 2 c of water with each meal (I'm bad at this one!)
4. Stay away from processed foods--pretty much anything that comes in a box
5. Try to eat most carbs early in the day --Carbs should be sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal, green veggies, whole wheat bread

Will you be following a workout plan as well?
Good luck to you! :)

Foods that are predominantely carb:

Vegetables
Fruit
Grains (Some of these maybe processed into other foods like bread, pasta, cous cous, please choose wholegrian varieties)
Pulses (= Beans. Aduki, Pinto, Kidney, Chick peas, Lentils)

Good replies. Sweet potatoes, corn, banana, apples, grapes, green beans, lima beans, pinto beans, oranges, brown rice, wild rice, whole wheat pasta or bread, spinach, artichokes, asparagus...

Any fruit, veggie, beans, or complex carbs such as potaotes or rice (no french fries!)
