Sport Carbs in fruits

Are most of the carbs found in fruits good carbs?

I eat plenty of them a day, usually as a side with each meal (raspberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, apple, pineapple) and I'm just curious is that's alright.

They're pretty simple. Not as bad as glucose, but not as good as malodextrin etc.. In the end you can't beat their nutritional value, so just limit their intake.

I would say I have roughly a cup, maybe a little more each meal. Is that alright?

Someone once told me since I'm cutting that I should get a good amount of my carbs from fruits and veggies.

of course, eating fruits is better than drinking JUICE and yes eating veggies is important in a cutting diet as well.

make sure to stay in ur calorie limit. thats the whole point

I'm not a big fan of mixing fats and carbs. IMO, some of your meals shouldn't have carbs/fruit, and instead just be protein and fats.

^^Agreed. Maybe in 2 meals max, but avoid eating them with your fish oils or anything fatty.

Hey guys,

I'm about to have a 34g protein/13g carb/7g fat homemade protein bar for a 7:15 last meal.

Is this okay?

I got it from the homemade bar list:

2 Level scoops of chocolate or vanilla soy or whey-based protein powder
1 Tablespoon of natural peanut butter
1/4 Cup oatmeal
4 Egg whites
1/4 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 Cup unsweetened applesauce

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix the egg whites and uncooked oatmeal. Add the remaining ingredients.
Spray a nonstick cooking spray in an 8"x8" baking dish. Spread the mixture in an even layer, over the bottom of the dish. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until the edge starts to pull away from the sides of the dish.

Let cool for 5 minutes and cut into bars.

Makes 9 bars.

Nutritional information-
Calories- 251
Protein- 34g
Fat- 7g
Carbohydrates- 13g

The one you posted in the other thread was better as it only had 3 grams of fat. And everything relating to not mixing the carb/fat was answered there as well.

And what do you think the amount of sat. fat would be from the ingredients?
