Sport carbs at nite...and stuff

ok here s the thing.. can anyone tell me why should I avoid carbs for dinner? And what can I have before goin to bed instead of tuna...sick of that!

I m aiming to gain a bit of size but not to put fat coz summer s quite close...

If I wanna gain a bit of mass and tone for summer but in the main time not to gain fat and keep lean what is the best diet? I know diet is a personal thing..just looking for a frame and few tips to follow...I usually have pasta twice a day and often eat bread...(I know...just, I m italian!) is that too bad? Apart from that I also eat eggs, meat, nuts, fruits,veggies...

Thanks for any adivices..

You should try to cut back on starchy carbs and get some fibrous ones instead in your last two meals. Try cottage cheese instead of tuna... cottage cheese is perfect!

I was just going to start a thread asking the same question. I was told that I could reduce my body fat by substituting a complex carb (like rice, whole wheat pasta, etc.) with another serving of fibrous veggies during supper.

However, I don't want to just eat chicken and broccoli every night... does anyone have any tasty recipes, or know of a site that would have some?

So long as carbs are not outrageous at any meal, you can have them at any time. What it really boils down to is a caloric deficiency.

Gip...you want to gain and lose. You cannot add and subtract at the same time. Work on adding a bit for a bit and then losing a bit for a bit.

Saphron, you might check out the UD2 diet from Lyle MacDonald at www.bodyrecomposition.com it's inexpensive and people are having fantastic results with it.

There's also the article called The Carb Cycling Codex that you can search for at www.t-nation.com

thanks for the advices...evolution, I know is kinda impossible to bulk and cut at the same time..but how about havin an half way stuff...I have a nice frame...not much fat( a bit maybe at the bottom of my belly), pretty skinny...now, summer s close and I aim to get tone and a little of mass, not a lot of course! I m lookin for a diet that does not cover my belly with fat and I m not lookin to become slimmer....Am I crazy or is it possible?

Exactly.

Your carbs should be centered around your training. If you train in the morning....your carbs should be in 2-3 of the meals earlier in the day. If you work out at night your carbs should be in those meals. Carbs at night do not make you fat. Eating too much food makes you fat.
