Can't lose stomach fat because of cortisol

I wrote the thread "Is it possible to lose weight with stress?" about a month and a half ago and I've been eating well and exercising ever since and lost a little bit, then went on a camping trip for the weekend and ate a lot of sugar and bread and didn't exercise and I'm back where I started. I believe I currently can't lose stomach fat because of stress. I have all of the symptoms of too much cortisol production and I think that is what is making my belly so stubborn. I have depression and every anxiety disorder along with college so staying away from high stress isn't really attainable right now. I'm working on overcoming anxiety and depression, using many different therapy types and positive living and motivation and I'm considering medication. Should I just keep going with trying to lose the stomach fat and not expect results until I can stop the cortisol by getting over my depression and anxiety?

I am not a doctor and can only speak from my own personal experience. When I was struggling with depression I was not able to loose weight. Once I got things under control it was easier to loose weight. You may want to talk with a health care professional to see what's up and what your options are.
Though it looks like you gained back your weight because you did not incorporate your healthy eating and exercise during your camping trip. Don't consider this a failure - think about it as a leaning opportunity and try to thing of ways that you can make your next camping trip a healthy one in line with your weight loss goals.

I find this very interesting. I'm in the process of getting rid of my belly fat.

I have lost several inches from my belly, but I just can't seem to lost the last couple of pinches.

I have been steady on my goals and mindset, but you know what, there has been a lot of stress lately in my life.

This could be the reason why I have reached a plateau in losing my belly fat.

I going to research this more.

Thanks,
