Is canola oil considered a good fat?
It appears to me that it is, but I am no expert. Just trying to keep my good fats and bad fats separated porperly.

Canola oil is a good fat, it has no saturated fat in it.
:)

Thats true, but just to play the devils advocate..
Canola oil comes from a hybrid plant developed in Canada during the late 1960s - 1970s using traditional pedigree
hybrid propagation techniques (not genetically modified) involving black mustard, leaf mustard, and turnip rapeseed.
Many people argue its actual health benefits based upon it's 'manufactured nature. Just because it isn't saturated doesn't mean it's all that good for you.
It is marketed as though it is the next best thing when compared with olive oil etc.. I would consider sticking with more natural less processed oils, unless it's UDO's oil which is a collection of col pressed oils and will satisfy all of your EFA needs.

EDIT:
I know that we are not meant to take EVERYTHING that we read on the internet as 'the way it is'.. But check out this link, at least it may make you think.

cheers.

Thanks niceone, I currently use flax, borage, fish oils. I was just wondering about cooking with or using in recipes that called for vegetable oils, etc., although I try to use olive oil as much as possible.

good stuff man, flax is definitely where its at! :)
It tastes like..... OHHH LAAWWWWWDDDD.. But then again, many healthy things do, right?

SO TRUE!
But the results are what counts!
