Can you point out some things?

I havent worked out in about 15 years, I am 34, 5 foot 11 inches and weigh about 240. its all the mid section though. I just stopped smoking and need to do some cardio to build lungs back up.
There is so much info here I get lost sometimes Can someone give me a place to start with a workout routine. I am going to get some dumbbells how much wieght should I get to start. And as far as the workout itself what day should i do what, and should I do cardio after the wieght workout. Sorry neebie stuff. Thanks Mike
 
Welcome to the forum. :)

Do 2 or 3 full body workouts per week using the major lifts (squats, bench press, chin ups, deadlift, military press etc).

Then do cardio 2 or 3 times per week seperate from the weight training. Cardio can be running, biking, walking, burpees circuit training etc.
