I have been reading on here for a while and know that i don't have to worry about y'all being brutally honest :)

ok, so i am doing weight watchers. I am 31. I am 5ft2. I started WW at 228 and am down about 36 pounds so far.

I do the core plan, which means that i can have the following until I am satisfied and don't have to count points: lean meat, eggs, nonfat dairy, fruit, veggies, some whole grains (like barley, brown rice, etc.) Then, I get a certain amount of non-core points I can choose how to use (usually the occassional bread, nuts, whole wheat crackers, string cheese, sweets every once in a while, etc.)

As for working out, I usually go 4x per week. I do 30 min of cardio (usually treadmill-uphill walking usually or sometimes jogging w/o incline) Then I do about 30 min of weights. I don't have a specific way of doing weights, just some ones that I feel give me a workout)

How does that sound to you all? any tips for weight lifting. Yes, I read the stickies, but I thought if I posted my specifics I could get some personalized advice. I am trying to lose about 40-50lb more. Thanks in advance for your help :)

Doesn't sound like a bad plan to me. Are you still losing weight?

In terms of weights, are you using machines or free weights?

If you are happy with your progress, stick with it. To speed or to change the shape you want to get a real weight routine. There are many simple to follow routines out there. I know years ago when I was first learning about women's weight lifting I liked Weight Training Made Easy. It was from the library and easy to learn and follow with good results.

i use different weight equipment. i like the cable ones, not sure what they are called, for upper body and free weights (barbells etc.) for upper body as well. for lower body i kinda slack...i feel like i use my lower body so much for my cardio that i don't focus on it much in weight lifting. is that bad?

i am still losing, but not as fast. i average a pound or so a week, give or take a few ounces. not as fast as I'd like, but i didn't put it on that fast, so it is gonna take time to lose it. i have accepted that :)

how much cardio sounds right? should i be doing more?

thanks again :)

I wouldn't change much of anything. Your rate of weigth loss is fine and you're not doing "too much" like most do.

I wouldn't skimp on the leg weight training though.
