Sport Can Vitamins Replace Fat Intake?

Sport Fitness
Hi all,

I'm on a low calorie diet plan and take the following vitamins: Fish Oil, Omega 3 6 9, & Flaxseed Oil. Do I still need to adhere to daily fat requirements or is ok to go lower with these supplements in my system? Trying to get my math straight.

Thanks!

No, youi still need some fat in your diet. There is not enough in omega 3 pills for example as its more concerntrated so the oil itslef is actually very reduced in quantity.

Try to stick to non heated vegetable based oils such as oilive oil and that from food. Animal fats tend to carry saturated fat which is not required for the body but is fine to eat in small quantities. Once you heat vegetable oils they partially become saturated fats.

Fats help with appetite control, help your joints to function and repair and help with overall health. Your body fat is not the same as oils and fats you eat. You will not put on fat as a direct result of eating them, the only way you will put on fat/weight is to consume more calories then your body needs. Count and keep tabs on your calories, you'll be fine.

I would say not to even count your vitamin/oil supplements toward your daily dietary fat intake. You can count the flax oil but nothing else as they are minimal, if that!

Summer is right, we need fats in our diets... and not all are bad, just watch the usage, ie cooking.

Do you use a macro breakdown for your daily fat intake? Even on the lowest recommended fat % amount, which is 20% (whilst on a cutting/weight loss regimen) you will be able to eat a decent amount, ie several eggs, 1 scoop of peanut butter plus flax oil and maybe a few more treats, or just the fat that's in your food.

Certainly don't deny your body what it needs to function properly :)

the tablets that you are taking consist of all the healthy fats. there are bad fats and healthy fats. now as long as you have 20 - 30% fat intake in your daily diet you should be ok. just remember that you need fat because vitamins in your body cannot be of use without the fat in your system. anyways, i can actually gaurantee that these wouldn be the only fat intake of your daily diet unless your eating nothing. because almost everything consist of fat. but yea you only need one of those tablets a day and the rest should just come from food.
