can treadmills improve ur leg muscles?

yeah but if youve got a bad knee or some leg injury, bike is the way to go, whether its in the gym not moving an inch or going around your neighborhood for a long time.

yeah sure can but is more for ur cardiovascular system so you might loose a bit of weight while your at it !! eh tredmill is more benificial than bike but can be a strain on injuries...

it will improve the muscle endurance. yes the abs also.. when you run your hips needs to be stable.. a function your back/abs has.. also the core muscles get a good workout.

Actually Physio Dude,
Your hips internally and externally rotate in the transverse plane during walking or running. So I don't see how they have to remain stable.

well when walking or running your hip muscles have to work to keep the hip stable ..when jogging you move your arms also... thus you have to keep your spine inline.. and then the core muscles start working to keep yourself stable.. otherwise you'd just fall over lol.

Yeah, but remember not to rely on a treadmill for great abs. Ab exercises is the way to go for great abs.

Cathy.

If you want to work your legs on the tread, set the incline as high as it can go, speed to about 2.5, then do walking lunges. Great leg workout.

there is a difference between treadmill and free running...it is that on the treadmill keeps you at pace...while free running you can go any pace...and higher pace results in abs...and same for leg muscles...
