Can someone help me start out

Hi all,

So I am 28 and really really out of shape...I'm not fat...just unfit. If I run up my stairs at home I'm out of breath.

So I brought a exercise bike, as it was all I can afford. Could someone help me out as to a good way to start out? Should I do 30 mins a day everyday or less? should I eat before or after? What kind of tension should I have it on, and what speed should I be looking at maintaining? Can I drink during the workout, and if so what? Is it true milk afterwards is really good for you to recover?

I really want to get my heart in shape, so I can walk a flight of stairs without be breathless. I want to be able to go for long long walks, and bike rides etc!

I am not looking to lose weight, I am a skinny guy, I always have been, I just want to get my heart in shape!

Please help or advise if you can~

Get on that stationary bike and ride. 30 minutes / day at first. Go as slow as you have to, but go 30 minutes. Do this every other day for the first couple of weeks, then graduate to every day. Over time, go faster for that 30 minutes. You will get in better shape. Eventually, get a bike and start riding outdoors (mountain or road).
