Sport Can I?

Sport Fitness
Really trying hard to lose weight and have been on a great exercise program and am very good with my meals health wise. I am very consistent with doing teh right thing with my meals and exercise. The one weakness I have is I really like tortilla chips. Wondering if I can have just a few every now and then and still stay on track.

The ones I have are Tostitos:

0 grams of trans fat
White corn
Total fat 7g
Saturated Fat 1 g
Cholesterol 0mg
Total Carbs 18g
Dietary Fiber 1g
Sugar 0g
protein 2g
Sodium 120mg
140 calories per serving - serving size about 13 chips

What do you think? If not I will just toss them out of the house right now!

have you ever tried the Baked Tostitos?

they aren't the best tasting by themselves, but if you add in some salsa they don't taste too much different than the regular ones...and they're better for you

They are really of no good from a nutritional value aspect.

Not everything needs to be eaten for it's nutritional value. Do you not like to enjoy your food once in a while?

IMO....I think if you are eating properly for 95% of your meals in a week, you can afford to have a free meal once a weekand still be able to make progress.

Of course..."eating properly" is relative :)

re Can I?

I'm really just talking about a "once a week treat" of a handfull. I don't need the salsa or anything else with it.

I have some light baked tostitos with my chili now and again. Are they great no, but if it keeps you from just breaking down and binging on really bad things then have at it.

Also some salsa's are good for you and really low in calories;)

re Can I?

Actually I am indeed eating properly 95% of the time and proud that I diligently stick to the right nutrition. So that's why I thought about just that little handful once in awhile. I actually may not even do it weekly just wanted to know if the option was ok.

Once/Twice a week would be fine as long as your diet is in check for the rest of the week as you stated.

I can't stick to a "diet" if I can't incorporate some of my favorite foods once in a while. I find that not eating what I want causes a binge where I go totally overboard.

Safeway has a line of organic foods and one of them is a Blue Corn Tortilla Chip. They come with sesame or flax seeds and are very yummy for a once in while treat. I love the blue corn with sesame and a little guacamole. Mmmm.
