am i ok eating an omelette or a protein shake or cereal something like that?

A calorie consumed at night is no different than a calorie consumed during the day. Go ahead and eat at night. If you're concerned about your weight, then just take into account that you're eating extra food into your normal exercise schedule.

People have a misconception that food too close to bed somehow contains more caloric intake than food earlier in the day, I think. Or, in other cases, it simply DOES mean increasing food intake above their daily measures, which they don't want to do at any time during the day.

Protein only contains 4 calories per gram so a 25 gram protein drink mixes with water is only 100 calories.
Try mixing in 2.5-5 grams of soluable fiber like PGX or 5 grams of Apple Pectin, Glucomannan etc to increase
satiety.

I'm sure you can have a whey protein shake at night, the only thing you have to look at is that is low carb and of course, the calories amount of the protein shake must be inside your daily calories consumption range .

I think the misconception isn't that food has more calories late at night, but that the calories won't be used for anything and will automatically become fat. Alas, this doesn't take into account the fact that how many calories you consume in a 24 hour period is more important than how many you consume in a single sitting. Back when I was sold on eating every 2-3 hours to keep up the metabolism, I was making a point of eating as close to bed-time as possible, and as early in the morning as possible, to minimise the reduction in metabolic rate overnight.

Many people take protein before they go to bed and first thing including me when I am in full on training mode.
