Sport can eating/drinking some snacks be ok?

Sport Fitness
In my opinion you could have it in moderation...Every now and then to treat yourself..

Otherwise if your aiming for a high goal i would then suggest you would stay to a strict diet if your serious aobut it.

well yea, that is what im doing essentially, about 5 weeks of straight dieting, and then i kind of lose myself whn with friends etc. so like this im losing about 3 lbs a week. from 180 to 168 so far

Well if your aiming at improving more on one area of your body for example the abs then you need to work more and harder for it so you should do your basic sets of crunches and that sort of stuff... and that's when you build the muscle for your abs...

then you need to remove the fat layer that's covering them if you have a fat layer that is...This is in my own experience so if you need anymore help just reply again.

I eat a strict diet 6 days a week but one day a week I eat whatever I want. I believe it helps me from hitting a platue by keeping my body guessing and not letting it adjust to a certain number of calories. So far I have been loosing 2lbs a week on average. It has worked really well for me so far. I can still go out to eat and not worry about what I am eating. Some people just do this for one meal others like me do it the whole day and some do it once every two weeks. I still avoid trans fats and only have aclohol maybe once a month. You just have to see what works for you. If you decide to do a cheat day and then you stop loosing weight try just a cheat meal.

and also another question, how can i "target" an area, like the abs, do they burn the fat over it?

Traditional core exercises such as: Crunches, Stability Ball Exercises, and the alike, have "very little impact" on fat loss. True, it works the core muscles underneath the layer of fat tissue, but the amount of energy expended (calories burned) isn't that great, and is a mere "fraction" in the equation of what solicits fat loss.

The "primary" focus "shouldn't" be the direct core work, to bring out the core, and solicit fat loss.

Rather a program that has a "high energy impact" on your entire body (such as developing a program that adequately works the "entire body" and how it was designed to function and operate) surrounded by a sound diet tailored specifically to you, will do more for fat loss and reveal the core than any direct core work. Include them, just do not have it be the primary focus.

Best wishes

For the record, you can have some foods that are traditionally "bad" without them actually being bad, if you try. Yes, the Americanized taco is generally horrible for you, but you could make em yourself and have a darn good meal. Lean beef, spice it up, use whole wheat tortillas, pack it with veggies, salsa, lettuce, whatever...throw on some natural cheese...nothing wrong with that. Just be careful, since you are out to burn fat, you don't want to go overboard no matter what.

For weight loss, it doesn't matter what you eat. A calorie is a calorie. If you eat under your daily maintenance calories, you will lose weight. It doesn't matter what the food is. I don't understand why people think it matters? If you eat too much healthy food, you will gain weight. You can get fat eating healthy everyday. It's all about calories in to calories out.

You can lose weight eating a snickers bar everyday, or eating at Mcdonalds. It's not what you want, but what you don't eat. Essentially, eat less of the foods you like...

Oh there's gonna be some major disagreement with that last post...

I'll be the first!

nooooooooooooooooooooooooo this just isn't true. There is much much more to losing weight than just eating a calorie deficit. If you eat junk food and fast food all the time, you are going to be insulin resistant, causing you to not build muscle, and store a lot of fat. Second, eating junk causes insulin spikes, and while its nice to get an insulin spike after a workout, at no other time is it really beneficial, in fact at most other times, it will simply encourage fat storage.

And on top of all this, when you eat junk like mcdonalds, you take in trans and saturated fats! Plus fried food like that contains little to no nutritional value. frying with oil destroys amino acids, destroys vitamins and nutrients, and causes trans fats to form. Not to mention fast foods and candy rarely if ever contain any fiber or anything probiotic. That means your digestive system is going to turn to crap.

If you are looking to gain weight, lose your general health, feel overall crappy and have a weak and unhealthy digestive system, eating a deficit of fast food and candy is for you!

If you are looking to burn fat like crazy, stay in good health, have good skin and hair, feel energized and have an elevated mood, along with a strong digestive system that digests food and absorbs nutrients effectively, I would suggest you don't follow this advice, and instead eat lots of veggies and lean meat :D

whew.:cool3:

And to OP: just follow the 90% rule. If you follow your diet 90% of the time it will be effective, so you can cheat 10% of the time, because a diet shouldn't be torture. Also you should treat yourself as a reward for sticking to your diet 90% of the time. So if you are eating 5 meals a day, that means you should have a cheat meal 3 times a week!

I probably wouldn't recommend trying to lose weight by eating snickers bars or mcdonalds. Healthy foods give your body the nutrients it needs, and certain nutrients help you lose weight.

I'm a big believer in letting yourself have treats or junk food once in awhile. Just don't go overboard and you will be fine, as long as you are eating healthy foods the rest of the time and exercising. If you don't let yourself have a treat every now and then, you may be more likely to just give up on your diet altogether.

personally Iv'e replaced almost all red meat with 97% lean turkey, and for the beef I eat it's all 96-98% lean. That alone will reduce your fat intake so your body can get healthier calories like protein/carbs and feel fuller, longer! Check out my post in weight loss about nutrition, it's quite a bit more eloquent.

To an extent, within the context of the original question, I agree. Eating 'bad food' sometimes, but staying within your calorie guidelines is just not something to stress over.

And, I know people who are skin and bones, but eat nothing but take out 3x a day. i'm not saying they are healthy...I'm saying they are not overweight or overfat.

If you cannot enjoy things in life, life isn't worth living.

Enjoy a taco from Taco Bell...in moderation :)
