I'm 6'3 285 pounds I dont have anything to lose weight, I cant go to the gym. My parents are always telling me to lose weight but they keep buying junk food all the time. The only thing I have is one 8 pound weight. And I am 13.

Firstly, welcome to the forum Rat :)

the gym is not essential for loosing weight so don't panic just because you can't go to a gym, but your parents buying junk food all the time may be a little harder to fix but you can loose weight even if you are eating junk.

Do you understand how to read nutrition labels on your food ? and do you have a set of food scales at home ?

For exercise do you catch a bus or are you close enough to school to walk ? Is there a safe park or playground near your home ? do you have access to a bicycle ? What sports do you enjoy ?

Welcome! Weight loss is a touch journey, but we are here to help you :)

I'm a military fitness instructor and whilst I wasn't that much overweight, I experienced a similar situation when I was younger. It took me years to carve out my physique and I am more than willing to coach you if you would like it :) Just reply to this thread and we can work together if you think we can make a good client-coach

Your last sentence is The only thing I have is one 8 pound weight. And I am 13. do you really check what one 8 pound is? well junk food or no junk food you can still lose weight, by selecting the right combination of food, the forum moderator will not allow me to post a link where you will go and download free ebook for your problem, that aside, there are a great variety of options available for weight loss foods that you can actually add in your daily diet, I am here describing few among them which I find commonly suggested by health experts.

Chilled Soups:
Cold or chilled soups can serve the purpose of low calorie dishes. It can include gazpacho or cucumber-dill, which are typically rich with plenty of green vegetables. It is excellent to take prior having meal. Also several health researchers confirm that having this type of low-calorie broth-based soup can actually minimize the amount of meal you can intake by providing you a sense of fullness.

Watermelon:
Most of the health experts recommend having watermelon if you are really serious about losing or maintaining your weight. Watermelon, being one of the best weight loss foods, satisfies your demand for fluid in the body while providing you a sweet flavor and a sense of fullness. Watermelon contains carotenoid compounds like lycopene and beta carotene that offer a wide range of health benefits ranging from immunizing against cancer to preventing from sun-burn. The juice of watermelon in combination with cucumber is an excellent delicious weight loss choice.

Grilled Veggie:
Without a dish of grilled vegetable on your dinning table, your diet plan with weight loss foods may not be adequate enough. You may add grilled onion, eggplant, carrots, garlic, zucchini and asparagus as a part of your healthy diet. You can have those in the form of veggie salad or in combination with other healthy recipes like ricotta, fresh herb pasta or frittatas.

Salad:
No one can possibly avoid having salad in their daily diet if he or she really cares to stay tuned. It is not only one of the healthy weight loss foods, but also easy to prepare. A handful of toasted nuts with whole grain roll, salad greens, ginger vinaigrette or raspberry can provide you a wonderful delicious salad with a promise of well health. You may try having whole grain salads prepared with wheat berry and tabouli. You may garnish the salads using herbs from your kitchen garden and a sprinkle of the herbs like rosemary, thyme, sage and parsley can make all the difference.

Tell your parents to cut down buying junk foods. Make your own list or come with them and buy healthy food for yourself. I know it's hard to loss weight. You still young. Be active and find some sports that you love.

Why can't you go to the gym?
At the age of 47 I went to the gym. I was
28 stone. in one year I lost 14 stone. but
Like everything how much do you want it?
Start of with light cardio and light
Weight training.eat 4 to 5 times a day
Little and often no big big meals make one
Meal carbohydrates and the other 3 or 4
Protein and you will lose weight.as time
Goes on you will get fitter stronger and
Much more confident when this comes together increase your cardio and weight
Training good luck....

pjoliva110264 most gyms have a minimum age for gym membership so for a 13 year old a gym as not a real option, also remember gym memberships can be expensive and therefore out of the price range of many people.

Your Parents cannot help you

Obviously, your parents words far from their action. Telling you to loss weight but keep buying junk foods. You can help yourself by relying on a weight loss program that can guide you to loss weight.

There is a lot of truth in what
Your saying but once you become an
Adult you meet more mums there
Called girlfriends or wife's if married
Women love to feed men it's in there
Nature but you still can control the
Amount you stuff in your face
No one force feeds you but interesting point well said Bro. ..

Hi Rat,

I personally use something called calisthenic workouts which are basically just body weight exercises i.e. Push ups, Burpees, Jumping Jacks, Sit ups, Crunches, Squats, mountain climbers, up and down planks etc you can also do Tricep dips using a chair, Russian twists using a 2 liter bottle filled with water instead of a medicine ball just think outside the box. How can you modify an exercise or workout to use what you have got? Then do it that way. For example if a workout uses an exercise bike and you don't have one then cycle or if you don't have a bike go for a jog the point of the exercise bike is for cardio to get your heart rate up, so if you need to replace it with another exercise that gets your heart rate going then do it... what ever it takes, just keep working at it and you'll get there. Hope that helps and if you have any questions then let me know and I'll be happy to help mate :)
