Sport Calorie Question !

well I was a bit confused on the other thread 'golden corral one' and wanted to ask another one regarding that other question I asked....

hope that made sense haha!...

okay so ,

If my limit per day is 1800 calories, and I have already met the limit and I go home and end up eating an extra 200 calories and freak out,

does it do absolutely no good whatsoever to go outside and burn off THOSE 200 calories ??????????????????
 
HI Jaymeb, I'm not an expert but I really doubt 200 calories every now and then (here and there I mean) will make much of a difference...

Personally I don't really calorie count (I hate it), I just try to follow the old protein/carb thing and try to eat healthy foods, drink lots of water blah blah blah.

We bbq'd last night, I had a huge turkey burger with lettuce tomato and onion and then a little bit of steak and some potatos, we rented a movie and I was craving something sweet and had a twinkie-I actually had to run to the store and buy one because I don't have anything like that at the house. I'm not stressing because I know I don't eat like that every day...and I work out regularly! :)
 
If you are at a point where you "freak out" over 200 calories then you need to step back a bit and take a look at things. It's not healthy to eat and then workout to get rid of those calories. What sort of pattern is that?

It's better to get back on track with the next workout or the meal. A really good rule of thumb is to eat on track 90% of the time.
 
I agree with Trainer Lynn ...

It's a scary pattern to fall into when you start to take on that mindset.

Bullemics eat, feel guilty, then rid of their calories. Whether it's by vomiting, diuretics, or an excess of cardio.

Focus on practicing your self control, and give yourself room to breathe once in awhile. Also, evaluate your diet. Regardless of the set number, you had a plan set for that day, and strayed from it ... what were the circumstances when you ate the extra kcal??

Hi i want to loose bout 7lbs how many claories do i need to consume to loose this wieght....i burn round bout 800 calories a day 5 times a week,,,i go to aerobics classes 4 times a week...body pump 2 of these....legs bums and tums...triple decker..then the rest of the days im at the gym......i have started to notice the difference in my clothes just need to know if im having enough calories to loose body fat not muscle mass....im currently 12stone.....lean mass 113lbs....body fat 57lbs...i had a body compistion done at my local gym...help and advice nuch apriecated thankyou....:)
 
Take off 250-500 calories for fat loss and add 200 calories to gain muscle. The number it provides you with is the amount of calories you need to eat each day to MAINTAIN your current weight.
