Sport Calorie free sauces

Sport Fitness
Ok, here comes take #2. My girl found this site that offers calorie free dressings, including ranch, barabeque sauce, and others. Now i'm not new to this game, and i smell a rat, but i can't find it.

The serving size is 2 tablespoons, so its not a 4000 serving bottle to avoid the FDA radar. The flavor i cant vouch for yet, but from a purely nutritional standpoint...does this stuff sound legit?

Take a looksie and get back to me ^^

There is no such thing as calorie free anything. The only thing that is calorie free is pure water. This is a scam. If ate a tire there will still be calories. If it was really calorie free it wouldn't be good for you. It would be useless. Then in that case, "Why put something in your mouth that does nothing for you." - Arnold Schwarzenegger.

If ate a tire there will still be calories.

What usable chemical energy can your body take from rubber? While I admit the rubber could be combusted and thereby release energy, that does not mean we can take energy from the tire any more than we can take energy from drinking gasoline. A consumed item only has calories if it is digestible. Items such as rubber, cellulose, and other non-digestible things contain no calories of food energy.

So, then putting that basic biological logic together (which i should have remembered from college...thanks UoM!...), it would seem that a calorie-free sauce would be possible if it was indigestible.

Assuming that we want to use it for flavor alone, does anyone have the scientific background to explore whether or not those ingredients are indigestible?

What do you mean UofM, do you mean University of Manitoba. If you did mean what I think you mean what course did you take to learn this stuff and how was it? Anyways, if it is legit and not harmful to you I might try it but I prefer my nonfavorful food thank you.

Well, the main ingredients on those labels are various spices, vinegar, sucralose(splenda) - all low cal/no cal items. I use spices all the time when i cook, for the same reason: to give my food lots of extra flavor without the calories.

Yeah same for most things when i actually take the time to cook.

Wrong UoM ^^, sorry bud. Was a generic joke anyway heh.

I think i'll go ahead and try it since the opinion seems to be that it isn't the worst idea to ever hit the freakishly dedicated audience ^^
