I have heard so many different things from people. Some people say it is good to eat about 2000 calories a day while working out. Others say it is good to eat around 1200 calories a day. Which is better for trying to loose weight. I have had so many people tell me that the more you eat, the more weight you will loose as compared to not eating very much and trying to loose weight. HELP!!!

here is the weight chart from biggest looser (and they do ALOT of excersize)

weight/calories (to loose, not maintain)

150...1050
160...1120
170...1190
180...1260
190...1330
200...1400
210...1470
220...1540
230...1610
240...1680
250...1750
260...1820
270...1890
280...1960
290...2030
300...2100

If you are over 300, then you need to eat 2100 a day.

The numbers of calories/exercise do not mean much except in relation to each other. To loose weight you need total number of calories you eat to be below total calories you use, so the numbers really depend on your weight itself, your metabolic rate, whether you like to be mostly active and exercise a lot or wether you prefer to cut calories. The best way to loose weight is have a combination of some kind of calorie control/exercise routine. If you eat too few calories/day(below 1200, but may differ for you), your body will react by slowing your metabolism and you don't want that to happen. You want your metabolism to increase, and the best way to do it is with exercise, both aerobic and muscle building. Basically, you just need to find a combination of diet/exercise that works for you and allows you enough calorie deficit to loose weight. Start with calculating your metabolic rate and go from there.

I've started limiting my calorie intake to 1200 calories a day. Im at 187 now so thats about how much I should be taking in. I've been having trouble eating that many calories though. I've been eating closer to 1000 calories a day. I just feel full all the time. I'm not sure if its because of all the water i've been drinking or what. Is this healthy? Should I force myself to eat a little more? Thanks guys.

Personally, I say if your full, dont feel tired, and have energy to work out, then listen to your body. Some days I can only down 800 cals, but other days I can sure make up for it and hike it up to 1500. 1200 is just a good base to remember and start with. Glad to hear you are drinking water! It really does help keep you full.
