Caloric intake on days off

I tried searching the forum about this so it wouldn't be a double posting, but didn't find an answer.

If I exercise every other day, do I reduce my calorie intake to compensate for the days I have no calorie burn?

Would appreciate advice on this, Thanks!

Sam

You always have calorie burn. You burn calories just by being alive.

Don't make this more complicated than it is. :)

Reduce your calories from your maintenance by about 30%, exercise 3x a week or so, and see what happens. If you don't lose as much as you want, lower your calories a bit more/add a bit more exercise.

But don't overthink it. Otherwise you'll make yourself crazy. :)

I have been over thinking everything and it is driving me crazy. I started a food log a month ago at Fitday.com. I am 210 pounds, 41 year old male and I'm 65 inches tall.

I cut my calories down to about 1500 to 1700 and people all over seem to be giving there own "expert" advise about how many calories I should be taking in to lose weight. I am weight training 3 times a week. And I just bought a treadmill. I just started walking on it 30 mins. a day.

Seriously, how many calories should I be taking in to lose about 1 to 2 pounds a week? Thanks.

You should be able to lose 1-2 pounds a week with that calorie intake. This site might be useful.

You would probably want to select "A Little More Active" or "Moderately Active".
