Caffiene used to be a key ingredient in weight loss pills years ago (diet pills got me thru many a late night cram session in college, but the jitters were brutal)
Caffeine has been shown to be a deterrant in preventing alzheimers... though non filtered coffee (ie espresso and french press) have been shown to raise bad cholesterol...
So moderation ....
don't forget the aspirin...Many people stack ephedrine with caffeine and successfully blunt hunger well.
Nah, I wasn't forgetting the asprin.
EC stack works just fine and it's not bad for you unless you have contraindications or abuse it.
Not that I'm promoting it.

EC stack is great in moderation. That 3 times a day routine with 25mg of Ephedrine each dose is just silly. I keep it to once a day only on workout days, which is 5-6 days a week. I cycle 2 weeks on and 1 week off so my body isn't always adjusted to it. Here's what has been working wonders for me:
1 hour before my workout, I take 16mg of Ephedrine(comes in 8mg tablets), 200mg of caffeine, and 1000mg of L-Tyrosine. I've tried Hydroxycut Hardcore before putting this stack together and this beats that overpriced crap by far (not to mention doesn't give me acne breakout side effects like Hydroxycut did.) It's great for any type of cardio, but just keep your heart rate in check if you're doing HIIT. I've hit 198bpm during HIIT with this(my max is supposed to be near 200-205 for my age) and immediately had to bring myself down to prevent any bad shit from happening. Ephedrine is said to become dangerous if you're reaching your max HR for too long, so watch out.
I guess, but the recommended dosage is 25mg which comes out to what in my opinion is too much x3. I prefer using less ephedrine and adding L-Tyrosine for my workouts, as 75mg daily just seems way too much for anyone to handle year-round. You can forget about sleeping forever. As far as the dosing goes... it isn't "silly" to take the recommended amount of 3x a day. It's been shown to be most effective early on in the day followed by every 3 hours or so (optimally an hour before you work out).
