Weight-Loss cabbage soup diet?

i'm not a fan of fad diets(mainly because i usually can't get thru the 1st day :D), but my entire family(sister, parents and grandparents) have planned to start the cabbage soup diet on tuesday.

i wanted to ask... has anyone tried it? its primarily a detox diet, which promises a good amount of weight loss as well. is it worth going thru, or should i try to dissuade everyone?

the weight loss looks too much to even pretend to be healthy, but the article i read about it says that this diet is very good for 'cleansing your system'.
 
If it looks too good to be true or too much weight loss (never a good sign) then maybe you could fit the cabbage soup into your diet somehow while keeping other things? the best of both worlds!

I would recommend as part of your diet. For me in winter this is mainly what I eat but in between meals. My main meals are basically salads with beans and brown rice and nuts.

I guess it will depend on what you are used to eating. I feel fantastic eating this way and maintain my weight by incorporating soups like this into my regular diet.
 
I first heard about this diet on a bodybuilding forum I think from an e-mail I received. Lets just say they didn't think it was good. It was in the weight loss section of it and I don't think it received much praise but different diets and lifestyles may have a big change depending on the person so it may be worth trying yourself and see what happens from the results you get from it.
 
Sorry, but with the cabbage soup diet all that weight you'll be shedding fast is just water weight, no fat. I know because I tried it :D Honestly, don't waste your time, it'll just discourage you because you'll gain those pounds back in no time.
 
Its basicly a low calorie diet which will make you drop a bunch of water weight but no real fat. Long term would be detrimental to your health as it doesnt contain enough protien at all to sustain you.

Basiclly its a gimmick. You might loose a bunch of weight for a week, but thats about it
 
hehe it certainly will make you never want to look at cabbage soup for a long time :D
