Sport butter

Sport Fitness
theres this off-brand cheap butter at my store (48oz tub for only $2.25) and the nutrition listing looks widely better than those expensive butter/butter alternatives i see:

50 cal
6g fat (1g sat, 0 trans, 3 poly, 1.5 mono)
0% cholesterol
120mg Sodium
0 carbs

seems a bit too good to be true, you think theres some ingredient in it that might not be good for you?
(ill post ingredients later)

butter is butter. butter is not margarine.
if you gotta use something, use butter. if the ingredients don't include the word HYDROGENATED (in whole or in part) then its normal butter.

ya it includes hydrogenated soybean oil

so are you saying butter is better than a hydrogenated alternative even if that alternative has better nutritional values?

if you're saturated, poly and mono fats dont equal the total amount of fat then there's a hidden hydrogenated fat in there. avoid!

i do the same thing-add sat, mono, and poly. if they don't equal the total i don't touch it.
not only for training, and weight loss purposes its it also bad for your heart health

btw..

what brand of PB is the best concerning hydrogenated oils?

i know natural PB but even they sometimes say no hydro oils "per serivng"..

just wondering what kind everyone else uses..
thanks is advance

are hydro fats worst than trans fats?

hydrogenated oil is trans fat. They are allowed to say 0 grams trans fat if there is less than .5 grams. That's why you check the ingredients for hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils.

Jessie...
Natural PB should have no trans fat. It may say "0 per serving" because that is a stock phrase, that doesn't necessarily mean it has any...again, check the ingredients. The ingredients for natural PB should be just peanuts and maybe salt

thanks yeah the ingredients listed are usually peanuts, salt, and palm oil, and sugar. however this is skippy's natural, i should probably try an organic healthfood kind..

Has anyone ever noticed that flys dont land on margarine. I read that in readers digest then tried it out myself and it is true.

If I don't make it myself I get a brand called Krema or I go to Wild Oats and get theirs (you grind it yourself at their machine) both of those are made of just peanuts. I think Smuckers natural has peanuts and a small amount of salt

...and as far as butter/margarine....I rarely use the stuff, but if I must, I use Nature's Balance. It's made at least partially from flax oil and has no hydrogenated oils

there are various other foods i run across where the listed fat does not equal the total...
are there any other hidden fats that i should look out for?

Nutritional values on food labels are rounded off (when is the last time you saw 1.3873 grams of saturated fat on a label:)) It doesn't necessarily mean they are hiding something if the values don't add up perfectly. Just check the ingredients for hydrogenated oils
