bump on abs

I am getting very frustrated about my side on view in the mirror.
I am fairly fit, have a physical job and been training properly for just over a year. My core strength is good, and i have a good 4 pack....however, at the bas of my 4pack, where the bottom 2 abs should be i can never see them, it is not because there is fat covering them, and when i look side on, my the bottom of my stomach sticks out further than the rest, but when i poke it it is hard.
I have tried stomach vacuums, but this has not helped at all, and i am doing floorwipers to work my lower abs, but i dont want to build muscle there i want to pull that lump in somehow!
Does anybody have any idea either what the problem is, and how to fix it??
Thanks

Hey simba,

When you say 'training properly,' what is it that you actually do in a week in terms of cardio/strength training? Also, are you male or female? Often females have a bit of extra fat that sits right on their lower abdomen, even if you don't have a lot of fat showing on other parts of your body.

I am a 19 year old male, sorry i should have made that clear, 5'10" and 12.3 st in weight.
When i say training properly, i mean 3-4 times a week i am lifting intensively with weight training for 45 minutes, and 2ce a week, do an hour of cardio, either football or squash, and my job is on a farm, so is high cardio, stacking sacks and bales etc.
I know it shouldnt be a way of measuring strength, (but it often is perceived as such so...) im benching 82kg 3x8 and deadlift 90kg 6x3.
My waist is 32.5 inches and chest is 40.
Thankyou very much for your help, much appreciated, but to make sure, i am 99 percent sure that it is not fat causing it to stick out, as when i poke it it is as hard as my 4 abs above, and i cannot pinch hardly any skin on it.
But even when i suck my stomach in it is still sticking out further than the higher part.

I would suggest seeing your physician to rule out anything internal that's causing the 'hard' bump.

Other that that, I'm sorry, I don't have much in the way of suggestions. It may have something to do with training technique... Not many people in the world can actually activate their upper and lower abs separately (around 5% of people can). I guess it's possible that you're one of them and the way that the muscles are being activated through training is causing the bump, although I wouldn't think that it would make such a visible difference....

I'm just throwing things out there, hopefully someone out there has something better to offer in terms of advice!

thanks for your help, i think the latter might be the problem, or maybe years of bad posture, but thanks for trying and i will continue to do the stomach vacuums and work on my posture and see what happens.

Keep us posted!
