Sport Bulking up question

I am 17 years old and 145 lbs. I try to eat 3000 calories a day. My question is, should I be eating three large meals a day or six not as large meals a day, either way they'd still total 3000 calories. I am wondering because, if I am almost constantly eating, wouldn't that mean my metabolism is going to stay kicked in throughout the day? Whereas just eating a few large meals it wouldn't? Just a theory, I'm sure there's a simple answer for it. Thanks.
 
Yes, you're better served spreading your meals throughout the day, rather than gorging on 3 big meals.
