Weight-Loss Breakfast

Weight-Loss

I don't like it. And more importantly I don't eat it. Sometimes on weekends I will have something at around 9-10 and then have a later lunch but for my Mon-Fri I just don't care for it. I like breakfast foods, even healthy ones. Just don't want to eat at 6 o'clock in the morning. I drink coffee when I get to my desk at work. Sometimes I get a little hungry around 10 - 10:30. Sometimes I grab a snack, sometimes not.
How will this affect my weight-loss? Should I force myself to choke something down? Is all that "most important meal of the day" stuff true? Or should I just stay the course so long as my body seems ok with it?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

Does breakfast have some sort of magical property to help you lose weight? I don't think so...
Is it the most important meal of the day? Despite what a lot of the commercials tell us, I don't believe that's true.

However, I do strongly believe that regular eating, not that 6 meals a day stuff preached by some, but breakfast, lunch and dinner, in reasonable proportions, with snacks thrown in are a good habit to have and does lead to long terms success.

Not eating breakfast is a habit that a lot of people have -I had it for 20 years.... Coffee was my breakfast of champions... Eating breakfast, whether it be oatmeal at my desk, or cottage cheese and fruit that I've packed, or a bagel and cream cheese , tortilla, banana and peanut butter wraps, something.... eating breakfast is a new habit that I've built... and it's helped me on this weight loss expedition...

Breakfast can be whatever you choose it to be -doesn't have to be highly fussy, but your body has gone about 8 hours or sowithout any kind of food -feeding it makes it happy..

Thanks maleficent. I think we touched on early morning food preparation laziness in my diary earlier lol I guess this may be an extension of that. I guess I can try to throw a banana or some sort of "breakfast in a bar" in my bag when I leave. I just figure hey, if I am cutting calories and I obviously am not missing the breakfast ones, why add to my intake to eat something I don't want anyway. I think I am just unsure if adding 100-200 calories to my intake in the mornings will boost my metabolism enough to overcome it throughout the day. I would rather use the calories on a cold beer or biscuit with my dinner.

I think you should make sure you eat regularly but that could mean breakfast at 9am, not when you first wake up. I hate everything about 6am and when I was getting up that early, I couldn't stomach the thought of eating. But give me a while and I was okay. I wouldn't skimp on breakfast because you want to save those calories for more food later in the day. That isn't really a very efficient way of doing things.

bring a snack to work, maybe?.. and when you eat it, call it breakfast!

Thanks, I was mostly kidding about the biscuits and beer. I was just using it as an illustration of it seeming odd to me to make myself eat something I do not really desire, at a time when I am not really very hungry, while all the while making sacrifices in other areas of my diet.

6am?? The only person I know who eats that early are my kids. Before I leave home I have a green smoothie at about 6:30am, then I have something real small at 9am, I'm good until lunch. On weekends I have my smoothie around 9am.

For myself, I think it is important for weightloss because then I don't come to work and overdo it with stuff that isn't good for me. If I don't eat breakfast, I'll eat a lot of junk at lunch.

Not everyone is like this though. The only other thing I eat breakfast for is mental power and physical energy. When one excersises at 5am, I think it is a good idea to eat breakfast. If I don't, I"ll be asleep by 9am.

My smoothies are purple. Frozen blueberries...check out the recipe
