Sport Bread while cutting

Sport Fitness
I have read on here that wholegrain bread is the best while cutting due to its low GI however Im wondering if I should take bread out of my list of carbs while cutting. Does anyone have any experience with cutting with wholemeal bread as a solid part of their diet. Say, 2 slices per day on a 2400cal diet

I'm 6 ft 4 220lb about 18% bf and my goal is fat loss. I do cardio (alternate between HIIT and 1hr LSR) and weights (compound movements) on alternate days

Bread is fine of course, but i think youll find rye better than wholemeal as it has an even lower GI.

I would avoid ALL bread if you're serious about cutting. No matter how you slice it, bread is a processed carb. stick to whole grains, like steel cut/old fashioned oats, and tons of veggies when cutting.

some people tolerate bread ok...many do not. and the GI factor is gonna leave you wanting more carbs the more bread you ingest.

I agree with Malkore--I've strayed from bread totally due to its gluten content---my results have been significantly better.

I support that as well. I never eat bread, I really only get my carbs from oats, dextrose, an occasional fruit, and lots and lots of veggies. Do it.

Roger that. What about sweet potatoes? I am using them in my pre workout meal with some cheese, and banana for high GI carbs post workout... I am about to do some research on dextrose... suitable while cutting?

I think sweet potatoes are a better alternative than regular potatoes, although I am unable to tell you why, I don't eat them.

Do some research on dextrose, I truly believe it is the best carb for post workout. Breaks down instantly, and serves as a vehicle to deliver the protein. Not to mention, it is like a dollar a pound, so very cheap. I have been using it while cutting for awhile now, with great success.

good stuff man, thanks
