Hi,
Now, as you all know when looking at the back of food products and at the carbs, you minus the amount of carbs by how much dietry fibre there is giving you the total carbohydrate...right.
Now, when looking at something like bran cereal that is incredibly high in fibre, do you minus the fibre from the carbs, or do you already assume they have already done the math for you? Being marketed as a high fibre food?
Take a look at this 'bran cereal':
serving: 100g
protein: 15.2g
Fat: 5.3g
CARBS: 34.2g
DIETARY FIBRE: 38.0g
There are more grams of fibre per serving than there are carbs already! does this mean they have done the math? Take a look at the ingredients:
Bran (80%), Wheat flour (gluten), emuliser (471), salt.
Anyway, given that info, what do you conclude?
Thankyou.
