Sport Boyfriend and Mother annoyance

Sport Fitness
OK so for the people who dont know...im 20 years old and i just started changing my lifestyle to become a fitness model or something along the lines of that. ANYWAYS. The comments from some people are driving me insane!!!! Why is it that people keep their mouth shut when im shoving my face with a brownie but when im walking around with some vegetables, im like a walking outkast. Im a nanny to 2 young girls so i expected some "EEEEWS" from them but my mother's comments of "but your not fat, eat sweets, have seconds, etc." Its so annoying...i know im not fat, i just feel better when im healthy! And my boyfriend probably eats veggies once every 2 weeks and he always makes fun of my healthy meals. Its just NOT NEEDED when changing from a big junk food eater to a healthy one is a hard enough transition. grr..sorry just wanted to vent :)

Wether to become a fitness model or just to change your lifestyle...there is your answer :)

(Sometimes I get that...people will ask, "why do you work out, you're not fat?"

I say I work out to feel better, not look it...that's just an added bonus! :))

Just be a smart @$$ and kinda fake laugh a little bit and then say "I know! Its SO annoying ISN'T IT!?" :)

LOL!! that's a good one jaymie!! I gotta try that sometime.:D

haha thanks! thats a great idea!!! and i cant help but laugh when my boyfriend whines about a stomach ache because he ate 5 lbs of junk food (hey he was just asking for it) :p

I think some people just don't understand.

It's kind of an addiction. If I go, I feel great afterwards. If I don't go, it looms over my head. Same with eating. If I eat healthy, feels amazing. If I eat bad, I feel like an oaf. There's no in between =(

That bothers me too! Everyone acts like you're trying to starve yourself when you don't eat pizza at 3:00 a.m. anymore! I think that from some people they act like that because they know they have unhealthy lifestyles and don't want to confront that.

But the positive side of making a change like that is when those around you start to do the same, it makes you feel like you're having a positive impact (and it's much less annoying!).

very true!!! i had a few friends ask me what to eat and when to eat it...that made me feel amazing....so yes your right....there are definitly plus sides :) but i def do agree that a lot of it is jealousy. It is hard to transition to a healthy lifestyle...it takes a lot of research and alot of willpower....and once you do it....some people will envy you for you determination....but maybe show it differently.

Trust me, when you fit and toned your bloke won't be laughing at all the dudes checking you out

It works to his benefit too. The sexier you feel, generally the sexier your lifestyle. If you get what I'm hinting at :p

I'm with you on this one. When my friends go out in the middle of the night for Taco Bell, I'll join them, but pass on the food, then I get a bunch of "what are you, anorexic?" comments from the same people who eat (and see me eat) breakfast lunch and dinner.

Just hang in there, they probably just don't want you to look and feel better than them;)

I think it's because there's two different ways of thinking about food at work here. One thinks food = pleasure, and who would want to deny themselves pleasure? It doesn't compute. The other is food = fuel, and why should I put anything but premium unleaded in the tank. Both are at work in every person (kind of a yin yang thing) but one asserts itself over the other. The extreme ends of the spectrum present their own pitfalls, though I think most people on this forum lean toward the food = fuel way of thinking.
