Ok Top books you would like to see made into movies. No limit to the number of books on this one. I also dont want long explanations on why your book wouldnt make a good movie.. So lets assume the Studio's have unlimited money and want to hold true to the authors way of writing Your book. Try not to just spam your favorite books.

My wife has been very fortunate some of her favorite recent books are coming out as movies soon. Since she is in bed right now I will let her post those herself. I am just adding this because I am jealous of her luck in this subject.

Death's Head - Would be awesome!!!! Intense action, sex, violence and space.

When she was bad - great book.

American God's - trippy book with a kick ass story - great for film

Eyes of Prey.

Odyssey - by Homer

Legend of Dizzt - the complete series

Nightwatch - very wierd take on superheros and magic. Would be awesome to see that all on the bigscreen

Honestly here is my path to geekdom.. If I had unlimited money, just about every podcast on pseudopod and escape pod would be a movie or atleast a weekly tv special.

Uhm.....usually books being turned into movies go horribly wrong. There's only a handful that I could think of that actually turned out okay....like the LotR ones, or the few Stephen King's mentioned. I usually have a very detailed idea of what characters, surroundings etc. look like, and it's never as I imagined it in the movie, and that ruins it for me. :(

And even with unlimited money some things are just not feasible, and a lot of actors lack the talent required for the characters they are trying to portray (even the so-called 'big movie stars').

So, my vote is 'Write original scripts for movies, and leave the books well alone!' *lol*

Ditto :)

About the only decent book to movie King novel was The Stand... book was far better but the move - even if it was made for television - didn't really suck...

Sorry....I thought "The Stand" (mini-series) was contrived and hokey. But I loved the book. I must've read it a dozen times since it came out. I actually love Stephen Kings books and one book that I thought would be great on the screen (at least I did about 15 years ago..I'd still go see it) was the collaborative book "Talisman". Stephen King collaborated with ? I forget. It was friggin awesome!

The Talisman was written by King and Peter Straub. Not sure about making it into a movie though. And I agree, The Stand was kinda....erhm...not good. The only of the 'horror novels' that were okay was Misery. Anyway....I thought 'Dreamcatcher' would make a good movie, and when it was released they completely and utterly slaughtered it, so....no. Maybe they should leave the Talsiman well alone....

I think Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was a great movie and was respectful to the book. One of my favorite books i,Lucifer is being turned into a movie and I hope it is good.

A World of Difference - old timey, sex sex n more sex =)

Four Blind Mice
and
it stops there, I rather read than watch something, I'm book nerdy that way, movies don't appeal to me. lol.
