Heeellllloooo, my comfortable style of running is primarily the balls of my feet. Now I just read some articles stating how it was not generally recommended for more than a mile of distance. Apparently it causes calf damage among other things. I have not noticed anything like it and the discomfort is almost non-existent. I find that I am much more fluid when I bounce from one side to the other opposed to having my entire foot contact the ground. I have always been a faster paced runner but taking a couple of years off/getting older has made an impact health wise. Should I train my body to use an alternate method of running? Such as Mid foot strike (MFS)? In ChiRunning, it specifically mentions MFS throughout the entirety of their training.
The only argument that I have is my comfort. And for me it is, in fact, running on the balls of my feet.
Has anyone else had problems in the future due to this style for distance running?
