Hi,

Just wondering about this as I have been reading a lot lately and it says in a lot of places you shouldn't do this as you wont lose weight (I am not by the way) but just interested in knowing more as I have cut down a lot. I went on holiday around 2 weeks ago and with it being super hot I lost my appetite so only had 1 1/2 meals a day more or less, when I came home from holiday i decided to do the healthy/exercise route again and havent been eating as much.

I keep getting moaned at because my house mate / girlfriend is saying I am not eating enough but I think i am!

I am not really a breakfast person as I dont get hungry until I am awake for a few hours and normally eat about 3 hours after waking....my question more or less is if I am not hungry should i still be eating more?

I weigh 18.3 at the minute and my sort of diet has been

Banana, Yoghurt, Tuna Salad, Prawns with veg fried....and also Seafood sticks

another day i had

Tuna and Cucumber baton, Fresh prawns, 4x small chicken wings...and then I had prawns lightly friend last night and a few seafood stick again.

this probably isnt anywhere near the 2000 recommended calories but I dont feel i need to eat more if I am not hungry?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Period.

I am guessing you're like most - you don't like to eat right before bed. So lets say for an hour before you've gone to bed you don't eat. Then you sleep for 8 hours and wake up only to hold off for another couple hours before giving your body some real nutrition. If you've slept for 7 hours that would be 10 hours gone without eating. Personally I wouldn't recommend going 4+ hours without food.

Some of the people I've seen take that to the extreme even used an alarm to wake themselves up half way through the night for a meal. The average Joe won't have to do that, obviously, but it's an eye opener for how important nutrition is.

actually more like Calorie Control + Nutrition > exercise.

Oh, and the myth about don't eat before bed was broken quite a while ago. Eating right before you sleep (as long as it isn't over your daily calorie count) won't hurt your weight..might give you dreams and heartburn but not extra weight than you would if you didn't sleep for another 7 hours..
