Body Solid G6B

The G6B looks complete. I like it a lot.
But, one thing really bothers me. MSRP is $2499 yet they have an option for aluminum pulleys for $349.

Now no one pays MSRP. And aluminum pulleys over nylon sounds like common sense to me (probably shouldn't be an option). Not that nylon doesn't work, it simply isn't as durable. But why would anyone want to pay upwards of $200+ for a few pulleys costing a fraction of that to make?

If you are going to pay that much for a machine, shouldn't Body Solid throw in a few aluminum pulleys for free?

No, don't buy it.

It's a lever action machine, regardless of what the pitch says. It limits movement to a straight line, reducing the recruitment of stabilizers and isolates muscles when you want to recruit more in a lift.

You are better off with free weights.

This is my setup:
Body-solid multi-press rack ($349). Free shipping at fitness factory.
bench ($299) . Free shipping at fitness factory.
300lb + 2x45lb oly set ($169). Purchased locally.
Stability ball: $24. Purchased locally.
Jump Rope: $8.99. Purchased locally.
Powerblocks Elite 5-90lb w/stand: about $600-700 (the bank statement says $417, but I think that's wrong, but I could be wrong too). Purchased locally.

I'm well under $2000 and still need rubber matting and a step platform for bulgarian lifts.
