Body Fat online calculator

Hi hi all. I'm posting here to recommend this great body fat online calculator for those people who are equipped with only measuring tapes :D

Check it out :D and don't rely too much on the Electrical Impedance/ Electric scale.

I just discovered that if you use the scale, the fats measurement is only between your legs, coz the signal runs up one leg and down the other - likely the thighs area.

As for the ones that you holds with two hands like what I've got on my stationary bike, it only measures across one arm to another - basically the chest area.

Best of lucks everyone :D

I bought one of those electrical body fat percentage scales. The number bounces all over the place and changes from day to day. It's really hard to tell if it's truly accurate or not :( Thanks for posting the link, I'll definitely check it out :)

I've seen this test before... and entering the numbers they suggest - I seriously question it's accuracy..

it gives me a 24 percent body fat - high number and a number i'd accept for now but at my gym when they used an electronic gadget thingie which I'd also guarentee is not accurate, 2 months ago it gave me a 45 percent body fat..

IMO, body fat is not something that can be tested accurately over the computer. It is a very delicate measure. Even with use of calipers, you are certainly dealing with error, not only of the device, but also the user.

I know some people's online BF measurements line up with their caliper results, I am thinking of Tom at the moment, but n=1 is not a good population to base the validity of the results off of, if you know what I mean.

Just drop by to say that there is something wrong with the display of the first site that I recommended. You need to enter your waist and forearm measurement as well but the boxes for them are not appearing. I'm trying to figure out what went wrong.

Btw, found another site that uses "US Navy method"

Maleficent, you are funny :D. You can do it mann ... go go go... Anyway, I just gave up on the Home Body Fat test, the first link. Can't find a way to make the boxes appear or filling in the value in the url is not working either.

I've just found out this site

You have to register to use the body fat scale.

You have to fill in your body composition and it's really tedious.. about 10 over items to be measured using the tapes. But the more the merrier :p eh eh

now that number is depressingly higher than any other number...
Malificent- Mine too! Gah, according to that I'm obese. I didn't know a 160 lb female could be considered obese..? Not overweight, obese. *scratches head* I mean, I know I need to lose 20 lbs at least, but obese?
That was depressing.
I did a body fat tester thing at a department store the other day (one where you put in info and then hold your thumbs onto it), and it also said I was obese.

Either I need a big reality check or Steve is right at these body fat things aren't accurate.

Steve is right
steve is always right :)

and i would seriously doubt the accuracy of any kind of online test - unless of course we're talking about the tests over at tickle.com that tell me i'm a love goddess :)
