BMI & BMR

Well ... I just found out (why I didn't know this before, I dont know) but my BMI is 28.9 (overweight- but almost 30 which is OBESE) and that my BMR is 1787 - so that means by doing nothing at all other than sitting here, that is how many calories my body burns?! That's awesome! I am eating wayyyyy less that that - anywhere from 1000 - 1300 ish. I am weighing in today ... kinda nervous!
 
not to discourage you (and not knowing how many calories you should be taking (not knowing height / age / etc), but you will probably be more successful with weight loss if you increase your calories. Your BMR is only accurate with a normal diet. If you decrease your calories below the norm, then your BMR will also go down as your body tries to conserve energy.
