Today in gym class I came very close to fainting. This has happened three times so far (only once at school) so I'm starting to get worried.
My mom says I'm not having enough sugar. Is there something I need to have more of? Will eating more fruit help? Because I usually only have a couple a day.

it's not necessarily sugar itself... though a hard candy or a glass of juice would probably make you right... right away..

Many foods convert themselves into sugar... so you want to make sure that you are eating regularly, and eating enough... (this is where i puton my mom hat-- even thoughi'm not a mom -and tell you that you are a growing girl, and not to starve yourself :D

Carbohydrates, like oatmeal can stay with you a little longer, and will convert itself to sugar.... but bottom line is you want to make sure you are eating.

Now, I'm sure you did come close to fainting because your body was hungry, but you might want to get checked out by a doctor to make sure there's nothign else going on... :D

take care of yourself

Thankies for the advice. I didn't really feel hungry when it happened, it was right after lunch and everything, so that's still confusing. But if it happens again I will mention it to my doctor.
Btw - I try to have 1200 calories a day.:)

I would definately mention it to your doctor. I had the same problem, and it was low iron in my blood. When I'm trying to cut calories, I avoid foods that are high in iron. Not intentionally, but I mainly eat turkey and much less red meat.

I'm not telling you to eat more iron, but have your doctor check you out.
