hey ya'll...I have recently joined the forum and found many of your topics VERY helpful...who knew everyone had the same problems as me?!?! I need some advice from some of you more successful bloggers. I see some of you have found great success in your weightloss endeavors and think that's great!! About 6 years ago i was able to lose 50 lbs from simple techniques. no gimmicks, no gyms, just simple life changes. I have mananged to keep it off for the full 6 years until I had a baby. I have not been able to lose the last 10 lbs and have since gained 10 more. I have been trying all the techniques I used way back when but am not finding any success. I have slim in 6, tae bo, a treadmill, eliptical, bike, basketball team, and weight room at work. I try to use them all and as soon as I lose 10 lbs, the scale seems to creep right back up. My ideal weight would be to lose 20-30 lbs, any suggestions as to how any of you lost your weight? I do a 30 min fat burning treadmill exercise that I found online at least 5 days a week, and play basketball one day a week...but still nothing. I'm open to suggestions here...

Hi there,
Sounds like you're trying hard and doing a good job. For exercise having variety is the most important thing. A comprehensive weight training program, along with regular cardio at a variety of intensities is best. Weight train 2-3 times a week and do cardio often, but have at least one full rest day per week. You can do some long slow cardio sessions and some high intensity interval sessions. Certain videos or machines aren't any better then getting out on the road or track for a run, or playing a sport.

However, your nutrition is 80% of the weight loss ratio. You can have a perfect exercise program and lose very little weight if your nutrition isn't right for you.

Hope this helps.

Post baby body changes

I hear sometimes that after a baby you body changes. Im not a pro here but i hear things like horomones and such change after a child. You may have to change the way you excercise to adabt to your changing chemistry. Just as you found the perfect workout solution in the past, you need to do it again for the present

Ugh...took me 3 years to lose all my weight from my 1st born..just to get pregnant 3 months later! LOL But that was the point.

Yes, jake makes a good point...boy it sure feels a lot harder once you've had children. Plus, not only that but you don't have the same amount of time and energy to focus on working out, eating right etc.

What type of things are you eating?

I'm a runner and before my daughter I had no problems with weight...could drop it in an instant...I knew what worked for me. Post daughter, nothing seemed to work! It was almost like working out for a different body. I had to switch up my eating, my routine etc. Try stuff I had never tried before...and sure enough, 2 months later, I was back in business!

I would keep an eye on what I eat. Eat less and eat healthy are great when combined with exercise. I am not a fan of fad diets. I would avoid high-carb and high-fat foods. Reduce meal portions and snack your way through the day. It is summer now, so you can eat a lot of veggies and fruits.

As to exercise, if possible, do 40 mins or 45 mins exercise on treadmill and see what happens.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have been doing my HIIT routine now for about 3 weeks. I am getting about 3-5 30 min. sessions in per week. I have been watching what I eat but nothing seems to be working. I actually think the scale has gone up. I enjoy working out, but am getting frustrated as I feel as though I am punishing myself with no reward...I have been on travel for work this last week, but still mananged to do my work-outs. I don't feel as though i ate alot but once I got home the scale crept up another 3 lbs. I guess I'll get back to my routine and pray that the scale budges at least a little bit...I may increase my cardio to 40 minutes and do a session in the am and one after work to see if that helps. Grrrrrrr
