Biking!!!!!

I was wondering as a start for biking (stationary bike) is 30 min a night is a good start to boost my body to loose weight!!! Or not enough...!!!

In the spring i will bike outside it actually take me 1:30 one way to get to work but i have not done that in like 2 years so... guess what.. the weight came on and i get tired quick...!!!!! Its crazy i bike just like 30 min and like when i am at 20 minutes into my work out i feel sweety.... OUT OF SHAPE ITS NOT FUNNY, its gross...

Any suggestion guy's!!!!!

Ps... Also try to eat like 3 to 4 (400 calories meal a day)!!! ;)

when on the exercise bike i do some of the CTS or Spinnerval training workouts, they keep you interested, make you work hard and before you know it you have completed the workout.

if you dont want to do that then i suppose it just depends on how you work for them 30 minutes. there is no point sitting there doing an rpm of 60 with barely any resistance, you will just be wasting your time IMO. try to mix it up (which will also keep things interesting).
try something like this,

5 min warm up

5 mins hard resistance with a high rpm.

2 mins rest, then back onto the hard resistance again.

etc...

hope that helped

O, OK... that sound good i have a counter in my bike telling me the miles, calories and heart rate and how fast i am going but i really dont think it right because if i bike like 30 min it said i burn only like 8 calories... its bizarre so i kind of ignore it...!!!

I am sorry but i am not too sure what CTS or Spinnerval training workouts are can you explain it to me please... ?;)

Thanks!!!!

Just egnore the calorie counter tbh, it cant be exactly right because it depends on how much you weigh, height, body fat etc, to how many calories you burn.
just up and down on the resistance and RPM and you should be well on your way...

CTS and Spinnervals are basically dvds that you wack on your telly and they tell you what to do, why your doing it etc... there pretty good.

I would post some links but it wont let me lol

but head over to youtube and just search spinervals and you will get a good idea of what they are all about.

hope that helped

OK!!! Thanks a lots!!!

yeah include some intervals in your 30 mins because in my opinion it gets boring sitting on a stationary bike for ages not doing a lot. Plus intervals will increase the amount of calories you burn and will help improve your an-aerboic system and aerobic system.

I don't recommend intervals for rookies. You need to build up to them. Plus, they can be very hard and demoralizing. For now, just go hard enough that you enjoy it. As you build up, you can incorporate longer and harder workouts and then then start riding outside as the weather warms up.
