Thank you and there is NOWAY any human can lose 26lbs in 1 week even 2 maybe if they weight 500+???

what you gotta realize is they are in a PERFECT environment to lose weight, no distractions and nothing but help

I've read before that its every 10 days! I know some of the biggest loosers on my myspace..maybe I can ask one of them?

What you gotta realize is that they're are losing weight for a prize and not as a life goal. So they use any means necessary, starvation... over excersize.. laxatives. The Biggest Loser isn't something to model your weight loss over or admire.

And yes, its possible for someone to lose that much weight in ten days. Using the above techniques, with a large frame. I mean, one night while playing hockey, during one 60 minute game, I lost 9 lbs. Obviously, thats water weight but I don't weigh 500lbs either.

i dunno man

they all seem to go down to a crazy amazing weight with good muscle. i dont think they will turn back at that point

Ok I get the picture BUT I must say it does motivate me watching their stories especially the women that weigh as much as I did and watching them workout and it kind of makes me want to get up off of my butt!I was just curious on how often they see the scale? Thanks Tammy

Plenty of the "Biggest Losers" have put weight back on. Obviously not at the scale with which they started but they are far from where the bottomed out at.

Obviously its a motivator and its a great concept for people trying to lose weight. But they have round the clock trainers and medical staff. Plus they're ultimately still on a reality show. The show has a prize for the biggest loser, hence the name. Just like most reality shows, its not real. They do lose weight but they don't always do it the healthy way. Just losing weight isn't really an amazing accomplishment. Crash dieting and working out for a couple months isn't gonna change your lifestyle. Sure you may not be 500lbs anymore but balloning back up to 300 sorta defeats the purpose of losing the weight in the first place.

Ultimately they're competing for a prize and the show should be viewed as such. Although, I do like going on the biggest loser website and looking at the "fan" before and after pics. Real life people, with real weight loss.

Season 2. Last season's runner-up, Kai Hibbard, 28, an aerobics instructor in Alaska who says she spent the night before her final weigh-in hopping in and out of a sauna for six hours, consumed only sugar-free Jell-O for several days and wolfed down asparagus, which is a natural diuretic

I wouldn't use biggest loser as a good example on how to do things the right way

the show probably wouldn't interest people if they only lost 2lbs a week

I have emailed Matt from the Biggest loser and he sort of let me in on a few secrets such as lots of time just sweating to lose water weight and low carbing a few days to get the whoosh effect so they probalby only lost half as much as it looks like on the scale.

He was a college wrestler so I am sure he knew every trick in the book for losing lots of water weight fast.

Exactly.

I can't stand the fact that this show automatically seeped into the our society as a weight loss tool.

It makes me sick.

I'd be interested to hear your latest thoughts on the show and if you still feel this way...

Hehe J/K

My wife watches the show. Its like a train wreck to me. Cant argue with results though. "cutting" weight by dehydration only works once also. As in I could probably cut 20lbs in a few days to show a loss on week one of say 25lb. To continue though I would have to keep cutting additional water weight every week (10 days) See what I mean? Roger has a radio show here in Birmingham, he said once that they were burning 10k+ calories a day and only taking in like 2k. An 8k calorie per day deficit over several months will definitely lead to some weight loss.

heheh... funny stuff.

I believe in set point theory, so an 8k deficit is just lame.
