Biceps Plateau

Hey ya'll, need a little adviice ith my biceps. I've only been lifting for about 2 1/2 months or so and seem to have hit a little snag with my biceps. I'm stuck on the current set of reps and weight:

Seated curl
12 - reps - 10 lb
10 rps - 15 lb
8 rps - 20 lb
6 rps - 25 lb
12 rps - 20 lb
then I do a standing hammer curl
12 rps - 20 lb

I've been on this level for about 2.5 weeks, all my other muscles have progressed but I can barely get through this. Of course I'm resting in between sets and whatnot. Any advice would be appreciated.

change it up for awhile. Try some different exercises for a few weeks and then come back to it.

I have a hard time going up in weight on my biceps too...but I usually work them on back days, so I figure they're already tired. However, 5 lb increase in a curl is a big deal when you're curling between 10 and 20 pounds. That's a 25-50 % increase in weight. Definetly try some different curls but be patient.

A couple alternative curls that come to mind are incline, off center grip, or fat grip (Wrap the dumbell grip with a hand towel) .

i'm at the same level. any ideas for some good different bicep workouts? i do seated and standing curls, then seated hammer curls.

CHANGE YOUR EXERCISES REGULARLY :) The body's ability to adapt to a stimulus is more powerful than you can imagine!

The beauty of simplicity...

:)

try building back mass as your arms will only grow relative to your frame and your overall strength. Do lat pull downs, barbell curls and seated rows for a month to build some seriuous upper body strength, then come back and hit the biceps from all angles to define them further.

But like I said, you shouldt be worried after just 2.5 weeks. Stick to it - your body will change over time.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think i just need to be a little patient. Just for the record, the curl is just part of my overall upper-body workout, so i'm definately getting the lats and tris and pecs too.
