Sport Better quick/to-go snacks

Sport Fitness
I need to come up with some things I can pick up at the grocery store to eat after my work out and for lunch. Right now I lift before work at about 7:45 (I eat an apple, outmeal and eggs at 6:45) then go to work at about 9:00. I need something to eat @ 9:00 after my protein shake and something to eat around 11:00 when I get off work ( I teach summer school). Today I picked up two Ben & Jerrys so I really need to imporve my diet. Can anyone suggets some things I can pick up at Shop & Save or Super Walmart that will be better for me?

I like the 100 call snack packs. they have wheat thins, or sun chips, ro, or, ro, but those two are my fav's. they can even stay in the car. I also have a big bag of raw almonds, and wasabi peas.

oh, and I like to much on sunflower seeds too.

FF, I'm not sure that those 100 calorie packs are really that healthy for you, i think they just package them in smaller serving sizes so they "appear" healthier, they're still 100 calories of mostly useless carbs.

Almonds, walnuts, beef jerky (watch your salt intake), sun chips are okay, package cottage cheese in a small tupperware container with fruit, homemade protein bars (see recipes on this site)...

Honestly, i would suggest cooking then cubing chicken, adding veggies and brown rice/whole wheat pasta/quinoa, and bringing it all in a tupperware container. That's usually good for at least 2 or 3 small meals through out the day.

-Good portable meal you can carry in a little plastic container:

plain instant oatmeal
1 scoop protien powder
some almonds
raspberries
dried apricot

just add hot h2o, delicious, about 300 cal, got fat/pro/carb

-I also have this Japanese meal thermos thing that has three compartments and keeps everything warm for about 8 hours, so I load that up with chicken, brown rice, beef, beans, vegetables, ...

-A little container or nuts always hits the spot. And don't forget PEANUT BUTTER

-Fruit is nature's perfect ready-made portable snack. Mix them up throughout the day - kiwi, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, peaches...

-I'm a huge fan of yoghurt, and the live cultures are great for digestion.

Yeah, ditto on the fruit and almonds. I pick up giant whole almonds at costco and bag them into servings (yeah, it's anal) and always have an apple, plum, nectarine or something nearby. It's better than running to the vending machine.

I also have an handful of protein and energy bars, but tend to just keep them around in case I run out of food or something...and of course, milk and protein powder.

That's not anal Def, I do the same cuz If you just sit there and eat them out of the bag those calories in nuts add up quick.
