I tried the Betalife program a few years ago. You listen to cd's which are designed to change the way you think about food, and you gradually change your eating habits to increase fruit and vege amounts. You end up eating huge quantities of veges etc. It doesn't abolish chocolate etc, but tries to teach you that it is ok to have a small amount of these things, but if I remember correctly, you cut back on carbs, which seems to be the big secret to losing weight in most programs now.
I didn't get right through the program. I only completed the first 2 cd's, but found they really helped me deal with the "head issues" that make me eat, and because I had only gradually started to change my eating habits I didn't lose that much weight. I think different programs work for different people, and it doesn't hurt to try them. I could probably rustle up most of the components of my program and post them to you if you would like.
