Hi, I'm going to begin a fitness program soon, and I was wondering what kind of cardio is the best to do. I play sports a lot, organized and in gym class, but I also want to work cardio outside of sports. Which is the best type?

EDIT: For those who have voted so far, can you please tell me your reasoning?

The best type of cardio is the type that gets your Heart Rate where it needs to be regardless of what machine/method is used to get it there.

I use the Elliptical.

Agreed. Whatever you choose to do is only as effective as you make it!

With that said, I enjoy running for steady state cardio, and doing steps for HIIT.
 
I dont know what the first two are. I like the eliptical and the stairmaster, the one that has the moving stairs. or a good cycle class.
